Final Blog For PR 3330

I really enjoyed this class. I learned alot, and I also had a good time. It wasn’t your typical come to class, listen to the professor talk the whole time, take a couple of notes, and then leave. Professor Groover actually interacted with us, and I really appreciated that.

This was a great semester. I’m going to miss this class. Hopefully we will meet again.

Bye

Thankful For. . .

I’m thankful for my life that God has given me. It’s been a very eventful one. I’m thankful for good health and sanity. I’m thankful for my family, especially my mother. She’s bent over backwards for me all my life. I love her so much. I’m thankful for my loyal and loving friends. They keep me laughing.

I’m thankful for everything that I have, everything that I don’t have, and all the things that God has yet to bless me with.

School Spirit

I have alot of school spirit. I’ve participated in most of the homecoming activities thus far. It’s been pretty fun. The whole circus theme has been very entertaining.

I plan on tailgating and going to the football game on Saturday. Hopefully it’s not freezing, and hopefully we will win.

Georgia Southern has a lot of students who are really into the school spirit thing. i won’t be painting my face or anything like that. But I will be supporting my school.

Favorite Book

One of my favorite books is “Things Fall Apart,” by Chinua Achebe. It’s a story about a man named Okonkwo, and shows his rise and fall as a village leader in his village of Umofia. He had three wives, he was a cahmpion wrestler, and his was admired in his village. Okonkwo strived to be successful, because he resented his father for being a failure. But in his quest to be the best, his life begins to fall apart.

I like this book because it shows how Okonkwo came form nothing, to having everything, to losing everything, and hvaing to start over again.

Dream Job

Hmmm, let see. My dream job would be doing PR for Beyonce. I love her as an artist and I think being the head of PR for her would be fun. She’s a great performer and she’s always postive, so working for her would be a good experience. Thinking of different ways to promote her albulms or shows would be cool.

Who would I like to perform at GA Southern

I would love Beyonce to come do a concert at Georgia Southern. I love that woman. She is an AWESOME performer. She is one of the few entertainers who can sing and dance at the same time, and do it well.

She always puts on a good show. I’ve never seen her at  live show before. But when I watch her performances on tv, they are always amazing. So I figure if she can blow me away on television, then there is no telling what would happen at a live show.

I she came to GA Southern, I would probably camp out to be first in line to get my ticket.

News Worthy Article

The article about the Yale student being murdered is definitely newsworthy. Annie Le was found dead, stuffed in a research laboratory basement wall Sunday. The medical examiner said she was strangled to death. But what makes this stroy ever more news worthy is that she was found dead on her wedding day. She had been missing since the Tuesday before.

Police arrested a man who’s DNA matched evidence found at the crime scene.

Chris Brown and the MTV Video Music Awards

There are rumors circulating that MTV asked Chris Brown not to attend the VMA’s  I f this rumor is true, I think it’s a little harsh. The man did a really bad thing by beating up Rihanna, but that’s his personal life. They don’t ban all the artists who go to jail for drug, DUI, and sexual assault charges. I don’t want to beleive that MTV is going to do that, but you never know.

Brown has apologized and is dealing with what he did. I don’t think it’s necessary to constantly remind him and ridicule him for his action. Until that incident, he had a pretty clean sheet. Now all of a sudden people are acting like he’s the devil. I think he should be able to attend the VMA’s just like the rest of his colleagues.

Defamation

Defamation or “defamation of character” is spoken or written words that falsely and negatively reflect on a living person’s reputation.

A great example of defamation would be accusing someone of sexaul misconduct. For instance the Michael Jackson lawsuits. The young boys family went all those years saying that Michael Jackson did inappropriate things to him. But when Jackson passed they came out and said it was a lie. Now the whole world thinks differently of him because of a lie. That’s defamation of character.
